About Us
Founded in 2009, Cal Poly FC (CPFC) has grown into one of the premier college club soccer programs in the nation. The team recently made history by winning the 2024 NIRSA National Championship, securing its second national title, and cementing its legacy of excellence.

CPFC comprises 23–25 dedicated student-athletes who are passionate about competing at the highest level while maintaining the rigorous academic demands of Cal Poly. Entirely student-run, the team operates as part of Cal Poly ASI’s Club Sports program.

Commitment & Culture
Each member of CPFC is deeply committed to the team, which practices three times weekly—typically on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings. Additional workouts, including weight training, fitness games, or futsal, are scheduled as needed.

The Fall season is packed with games and practices every week, culminating in the Annual Regional Tournament during Halloween weekend and Nationals the week before Thanksgiving. The Winter Quarter serves as an “off” season with lighter practices, allowing players to recharge and prepare for the Spring season. The Spring season offers a shorter but equally competitive schedule with fewer games and travel commitments.

Our “school comes first” philosophy ensures that players balance academics and athletics. However, being a part of CPFC requires dedication to practices, games, and related team events.

Funding & Support
As a student-run program, CPFC receives minimal funding from the university. To cover additional costs such as travel, equipment, and uniforms, players contribute dues, which range from $400–$500 per season depending on the team’s schedule and travel needs.

More Than a Team
CPFC is more than just a soccer team—it’s a second family. The camaraderie and support among teammates have shaped our college experiences, enabling us to pursue our love for soccer at the highest level while forming lifelong friendships. We are all best friends.
